RULES AND REGULATIONS
All entry fees must be
received no later than March 26th, 2011. There will be an additional $10.00
late fee charged to all entry fees received after March 26th, 2011. All fees
automatically go towards the Happy Hookers Charity Fishing Tournament prizes
and charity. There will be absolutely no refunds. T-Shirts are limited to
the first 200 entrants. The directors of the Happy Hookers Charity Fishing
Tournament reserve the right to refuse entry into this tournament or any future
tournament.
All
State and
Entry fee. The entry fee is
$85.00 per fisherman with a team consisting of a maximum of 4 fishermen. Fee
includes T-Shirt, Door Prizes & Catered Dinner. An entry fee must be
received along with a fully completed and signed Happy Hookers Entry form for
any fisherman to be considered entered into the tournament. A form not signed
by a single fisherman on a team will keep the entire team from being entered in
the tournament. By signing the form you are agreeing to have read the
tournament rules, regulations and hold harmless agreement and you understand it
and agree to be bound by it from the date of signature and forever into the
future. By paying online you are agreeing to have read the tournament rules,
regulations and hold harmless agreement and you understand it and agree to be
bound by it from the date of online entry and forever into the future.
Boundaries. Tournament boundaries
are as follows: West of the Colorado River to include West Matagorda Bay,
Fishing hours. Tournament
begins at 6:00 AM. You may leave the launch site at any time but can not begin fishing
until 6:00 AM. You must launch from a boat ramp within the posted boundaries.
Teams. All teams must
be designated before tournament begins and must fish out of the same boat. All
persons in the boat must be entered in tournament. Only one
team per boat. Waders and boat anglers may split up, but must not
venture more than one-half mile apart. No one with a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's
License to guide professionally or anyone known to be a guide may fish or be on
boat in this tournament. The use of fishing guides during tournament hours is
prohibited and subject to disqualification of the entire team.
Kayak teams, Beginning in 2010 we
will be accepting team entries consisting of up to 4 fisherman using only kayaks. All teams
must be designated before tournament begins. All members on team must fish out
of a kayak and can not venture more than one-half mile apart. Launch location
must be within tournament boundaries and all kayak team members must launch
from the same location at the same time. At no time during tournament hours can
any kayak team member board a boat or be towed by a boat. Violation of any of
these rules is subject to disqualification of entire team.
Bait and Tackle. Artificial
Lures Only!!! No Fisherman in the Happy Hookers Charity Fishing Tournament is
allowed to use any sort of live, fresh, dead or frozen bait. Users will be
disqualified from the tournament. All fish must be caught by legal means using
a rod, reel & line.
Check in. One member of
team must be present at the designated area to sign in no later than 4:30 PM on
Saturday to be eligible to check your fish in. There will be no teams accepted
after the 4:30 PM deadline in reached.
Weigh-in.
Only 5 Trout and 3 Reds per team are to be turned in for measurement towards
your team's stringer. Stringer must be selected prior to
turning in to weigh master. All fish will be measured for prize consideration.
All fish turned in for measurement will be marked. Minimum
trout size is 16 inches. Only one trout over 25 inches per
team. A trout will be disqualified from the stringer and not
replaceable if any team turns in more than one trout over 25 inches or any
trout under the minimum. Any trout turned in under 15 will
result in the teams disqualification. Only
slot redfish will be considered for weigh in, (20 inches to 28 inches). Any redfish turned in
over 28 inches will be disqualified from the team stringer and can not be
replaced. Any redfish turned in over 28 inches that is not tagged will result
in the teams disqualification. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO
EXCUSES. Submitted fish must be caught within the boundaries, during posted
tournament hours and in fresh, edible condition. Frozen, thawed, spoiled, pale,
gilled or altered fish will be disqualified.
Tie Breaker. In the event of a tie
by length, weight will be used to determine a winner. In the event of a tie by
length and weight, the first to check in will break the tie.
No Fish Pooling. No fish pooling is
permitted between teams. Only fish caught by team members on the tournament
date are eligible for weigh-in towards the team's stringer. Pooling of fish
will result in the entire team's disqualification.
Polygraph. By entering into the
tournament each contestant agrees to submit to a polygraph test and abide by
its conclusion. Polygraph test will be issued at the discretion of the
tournament directors. The results of the polygraph test are final and cannot be
protested or reviewed by a court of law. Failure to take, pass and\or submit to
the polygraph will result in disqualification of entire team. Each contestant
selected for polygraph must have in their possession a valid picture ID, Texas
fishing license and saltwater stamp. Any entrant under the influence of Alcohol
will not be allowed to take polygraph. A team may possibly be disqualified if
entire team is unsuitable to take polygraph due to alcohol.
Boating and weather
Safety. The use of Kill switches and personal flotation devices (PFD)
is highly recommended for all entrants when operating the outboard motor. In
the event of dangerous weather, cancellation of all or part of the event will
be at the discretion of the tournament directors.
Protest. All
judgments by tournament directors are final. All protest must be in writing and
submitted to a tournament director no later than 4:45 PM.
Cancellation. In case of tournament
cancellation, entry fee will be donated to the chosen charity of that year.
There will be no make up date.
